A Chappy is a 50cc or 72cc two-stroke moped from Japanese manufacturer Yamaha.
It was marketed from 1973 to 1996 in various versions. There were models with or without pedals, with automatic transmission (2 speeds with or without preselection lever), semi-automatic (3 speeds) or manual (4 speeds).
The Chappy starts with the kickstarter and uses 6 volt electricity produced by a magnetic flywheel and ignition by platinum screws.
It becomes rare over time. It was appreciated for its large tires, its separate lubrication (very rare at the time on models of this displacement), its indicators, its unique exhaust, its size and its comfort. Therefore, this model can be considered an ancestor of the current scooter.
