The name "DAX" comes from its resemblance to the dachshund dog breed (low and elongated), in German "dachshund" is called "Dachshund", the name "Dax" was therefore born. When it was created, the Honda Dax was called "ST", "Dax" came later.

in 1969, the Dax was marketed, equipped with a T-shaped frame in stamped sheet metal, suspensions and 10-inch wheels for better driving comfort. This one is powered by a single-cylinder tumbler available in 50 and 70 cm³, an already well-tested carton since it comes directly from the Super Cub, the big Honda sale of the time... Characteristic which will cross the years, the Honda Dax has a folding handlebar, intended to make it even more compact.
